Summary

Alopecia totalis is due to the extension of alopecia to the entire scalp wich becomes glabrous. Prognosis is more severe than for alopecia areata. Spontaneous or treatment-induced regrowth is less frequent and occurs later. *Author: P. Reygagne, M.D. (May 2002)*
