Phenotypes associated with the disease Neovascular glaucoma (ORPHA:94058):
- Glaucoma (HP:0000501): Glaucoma refers loss of retinal ganglion cells in a characteristic pattern of optic neuropathy usually associated with increased intraocular pressure. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Obligate (HP:0040280). (ORPHA:94058)
- Visual loss (HP:0000572): Loss of visual acuity (implying that vision was better at a certain time point in life). Otherwise the term reduced visual acuity should be used (or a subclass of that). Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very frequent (HP:0040281). (ORPHA:94058)
- Rubeosis iridis (HP:0011497): Formation of new blood vessels on the iris. The new vessels do not display the typical radially symmertic growth pattern of normal iris blood vessels, but rather appear disorganized. Rubeosis usually starts from the pupillary border with tiny tufts of dilated capillaries or red spots that can only be appreciated with high magnification. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very frequent (HP:0040281). (ORPHA:94058)
- Retinal venous occlusion (HP:0012636): Blockage of a retinal vein or venule, occurring typically at an arteriovenous crossing. Typically presenting with dilated veins, retinal hemorrhages and in some cases non-perfusion. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very frequent (HP:0040281). (ORPHA:94058)
- Retinopathy (HP:0000488): Any noninflammatory disease of the retina. This nonspecific term is retained here because of its wide use in the literature, but if possible new annotations should indicate the precise type of retinal abnormality. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:94058)
- Abnormal uvea morphology (HP:0000553): An abnormality of the uvea, the vascular layer of the eyeball. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:94058)
- Abnormal optic nerve morphology (HP:0000587): Abnormality of the optic nerve. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:94058)
- Photophobia (HP:0000613): Excessive sensitivity to light with the sensation of discomfort or pain in the eyes due to exposure to bright light. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:94058)
- Ocular hypertension (HP:0007906): Intraocular pressure that is 2 standard deviations above the population mean. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:94058)
- Central retinal vein occlusion (HP:0020166): Central retinal vein occlusion is an occlusion of the main retinal vein posterior to the lamina cribrosa of the optic nerve and is typically caused by thrombosis. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:94058)
- Visual acuity test abnormality (HP:0030532). Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:94058)
- Ocular pain (HP:0200026): An unpleasant sensation characterized by physical discomfort (such as pricking, throbbing, or aching) localized to the eye. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:94058)
- Abnormality of central retinal artery (HP:3000032): An abnormality of a central retinal artery. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:94058)
- Abnormal anterior chamber morphology (HP:0000593): Abnormality of the anterior chamber, which is the space in the eye that is behind the cornea and in front of the iris. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Occasional (HP:0040283). (ORPHA:94058)
- Abnormal posterior eye segment morphology (HP:0004329). Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Occasional (HP:0040283). (ORPHA:94058)
- Retinal neovascularization (HP:0030666): In ischemic retinal disease, neovascularization (NV) involves the sprouting of new vessels from pre-existent vessels. Ischemia invariably leads to the upregulation of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) production. Most frequently the new vessels grow internal to the plane of the retina. However, intraretinal proliferation of new vessels can also occur. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Occasional (HP:0040283). (ORPHA:94058)
- Corneal stromal edema (HP:0012040): Abnormal accumulation of fluid and swelling of the stroma of cornea. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Occasional (HP:0040283). (ORPHA:94058)
- Uveal ectropion (HP:0025358): Presence of iris pigment epithelium on the anterior surface of the iris. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Occasional (HP:0040283). (ORPHA:94058)
- Conjunctival hyperemia (HP:0030953): Dilatation of the blood vessels of the conjunctiva leading to a red appearance of the sclera. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Occasional (HP:0040283). (ORPHA:94058)
- Retinal detachment (HP:0000541): Separation of the inner layers of the retina (neural retina) from the pigment epithelium. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very rare (HP:0040284). (ORPHA:94058)
