Phenotypes associated with the disease Adenocarcinoma of the oesophagus and oesophagogastric junction (ORPHA:99976):
- Obesity (HP:0001513): Accumulation of substantial excess body fat. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very frequent (HP:0040281). (ORPHA:99976)
- Clinodactyly of the 5th toe (HP:0001864): Bending or curvature of a fifth toe in the tibial direction (i.e., towards the big toe). Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very frequent (HP:0040281). (ORPHA:99976)
- Nausea and vomiting (HP:0002017): Nausea is a commonly encountered symptom that has been defined as an unpleasant painless subjective feeling that one will imminently vomit. Vomiting has been defined as the forceful expulsion of the contents of the stomach, duodenum, or jejunum through the oral cavity. While nausea and vomiting are often thought to exist on a temporal continuum, this is not always the case. There are situations when severe nausea may be present without emesis and less frequently, when emesis may be present without preceding nausea. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:99976)
- Gastroesophageal reflux (HP:0002020): A condition in which the stomach contents leak backwards from the stomach into the esophagus through the lower esophageal sphincter. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very frequent (HP:0040281). (ORPHA:99976)
- Lymphadenopathy (HP:0002716): Enlargement (swelling) of a lymph node. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Occasional (HP:0040283). (ORPHA:99976)
- Feeding difficulties in infancy (HP:0008872): Impaired feeding performance of an infant as manifested by difficulties such as weak and ineffective sucking, brief bursts of sucking, and falling asleep during sucking. There may be difficulties with chewing or maintaining attention. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very frequent (HP:0040281). (ORPHA:99976)
- Esophageal carcinoma (HP:0011459): The presence of a carcinoma of the esophagus. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very frequent (HP:0040281). (ORPHA:99976)
- Cough (HP:0012735): A sudden, audible expulsion of air from the lungs through a partially closed glottis, preceded by inhalation. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:99976)
- Barrett esophagus (HP:0100580): An abnormal change (metaplasia) in the cells of the inferior portion of the esophagus. The normal squamous epithelium lining of the esophagus is replaced by metaplastic columnar epithelium. Columnar epithelium refers to a cell type that is typically found in more distal parts of the gastrointestinal system. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Very frequent (HP:0040281). (ORPHA:99976)
- Chest pain (HP:0100749): An unpleasant sensation characterized by physical discomfort (such as pricking, throbbing, or aching) localized to the chest. Evidence: TAS. Frequency: Frequent (HP:0040282). (ORPHA:99976)
